The study was conducted to assess the quality and level of justice and legal support available to the potential, returnee, existing, and deported migrant workers in Pakistan and destination countries, in particular the Gulf States. The study has collected evidence from four provinces of Pakistan. The purpose of the study was to assess the legislative support available in the legal documents of Pakistan and to compare this support with the implementation on the ground. Another purpose of the study was to develop a proposed support mechanism for migrant workers through policy reform or "doorstep support" through a resource center for migrant workers. The sample of the study is not a concrete reference to be presented widely; rather, the findings are intended to be used mainly for understanding the issue. The findings should not be quoted or generalized.

This report presents the findings of the end-of-project evaluation for the 2-year (May 2016-April 2018) Swiss Solidarity-funded and Solidar Suisse implemented project with the objective of “Strengthening the Resistance of Flood Affected 20 Communities in district Layyah”. The project was implemented in 20 communities/revenue villages in Union Councils Jakhar and Lohanch, situated between the Indus and Chenab Rivers (see map). Both Union Councils are vulnerable to annual monsoon flooding, which destroys food and cash crops, homes, and livelihoods, increases the incidence of water-borne diseases and makes safe hygiene practices extremely difficult.

Gender Equality Self-Assessment (GESA) was carried out for Plan Pakistan, which is part of Plan International, a global independent development and humanitarian organization working in over 70 countries. Plan is consciously striving to mainstream gender across the board for the pursuance of its core objectives. GESA is a tool and process for an organization used for identifying how gender issues are addressed in its programming and in its internal organizational processes. The goal of this GESA exercise was to establish a baseline of current knowledge, practices and performance in gender equality mainstreaming within Plan Pakistan. GESA was a global initiative carried out in over 15 countries by Plan International in year 2012-3. This work being among the best of the lot was showcased at an international conference in Thailand by the client.

This manual explores the role of effective career counselling in enhancing women’s employment and is a formal career counselling reference manual for introducing gender sensitivity for specialized and effective career counselling.
